Ability to attend networking/fundraising functions that occur outside traditional office hours. Ability to raise the visibility of the organization through successful public relations and marketing including expansion of the Foundation membership base. Excellent analytical skills. Must be deadline and multi-task oriented. Must have reliable source of transportation, valid driver's license, and automobile insurance if driving while on the job.

Child Psychiatrist - Tampa
SIGN ON BONUS - $10,000

Child Psychiatrist for inpatient program needed to provide care for up to 14 patients on Children’s Crisis Stabilization Unit (CCSU). This is a full time position with benefits working 32 to 35 hours per week Monday through Friday with opportunities for night and weekend call.  Responsibilities include psychiatric and physical evaluations on all new patients and daily rounds on all existing patients.  Medication management, treatment team discussions and family interviews are also expected. 

The CCSU has 28 beds with another Psychiatrist and a Resident completing a Child Psychiatry Fellowship also on staff.  We offer follow up outpatient care at our Children’s Outpatient Clinic located nearby.

You will meet with medical colleagues and other professional staff regularly.  Support and consultation provided under the supervision of the Medical Director.  Must be BE/BC in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and be fully licensed to practice medicine in the state of Florida.

Adult Psychiatrist – Tampa
SIGN ON BONUS - $10,000

Adult Psychiatrist needed to work in an inpatient community mental health setting. This is a full time 35 hour per week position Monday through Friday with benefits. We have a Central Intake where patients are evaluated and triaged to determine the level of care necessary. There are also 8 inpatient psychiatric beds where patients can be admitted and treated.  Responsibilities include psychiatric and physical evaluations of patients, determinations on competency and need for involuntary examination and daily rounds on the 8 admitted inpatients. We have an adjoining 60 bed Crisis Stabilization Unit which is fully staffed and have other psychiatrist assisting in Central Intake.

Psychiatrist needed for acute care/inpatient 20 - bed Adult/8 - bed Child Crisis Stabilization Units, to complete Baker Act psychiatric evaluations, daily medication management, Baker Act opinions, provide court testimony for continued involuntary placement, and implement appropriate discharge planning. Monday- Friday. Multi-disciplinary and collaborative team approach. Will support other psychiatrist on a daily basis. 2 positions available. One Adult Psychiatrist and one Child Psychiatrist position available. Must be able to see both populations. This dynamic and skilled professional provides adult and/or child psychiatric evaluations and medication management for the David Lawrence Center's Baker Act Receiving facility, Emergency Services and Crisis Stabilization Units, via an integrated and well-coordinated multi-disciplinary approach. The psychiatrist will also provide periodic rounds and oversight for the Detoxification program. Suboxone Certification for management of detox opiate taper protocol is preferred. No discharge prescriptions for Suboxone or controlled medications are provided. Daily rounds on CSU and ESAC also include but are not limited to attending morning treatment team report, completing Baker Act competency evaluations, family meetings where necessary, entering electronic orders, timely authentication of orders, certification of treatment plans, e- prescribing, timely completion of discharge summaries, peer to peer calls, and coordination with PCP's, etc. Works collaboratively with other psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, physician assistant, nurses, clinicians, case managers, and technicians in the provision of acute psychiatric stabilization, coordination of quality care, via a least restrictive and client-centered approach. Position requires ability to adhere to Florida Mental Health Law, which includes attending Baker Act court hearings to advocate for continued involuntary treatment when necessary. Values relationships with people as greatest asset. Is able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
